AJ Rompza joins Jumpshot AI as co-founder
AJ’s workouts and daily mindset messages are coming to the app soon, with one goal: help every player build a shot they trust.
AJ Rompza, the former UCF point guard and standout, has joined Jumpshot AI as co-founder. The app started with a simple idea: every player deserves real feedback on their shot, not just the ones who have access to a private coach. In Los Angeles, AJ has spent years giving that feedback to middle-school, high-school and NCAA players, and even top celebrities and athletes from all over. Now he’s bringing it to the app.
From Chicago courts to your phone
AJ's story starts the way so many do, as a kid in Chicago with a ball and a goal. He was never the tallest player on the floor, so he outworked everyone. That work earned him a four-year scholarship as a starter at the University of Central Florida, a pro career overseas and more than 700,000 followers online.
Now AJ wants to help the next kid with a ball and a goal, wherever they train: a high-school gym, a driveway hoop or a park court on the other side of the world. Jumpshot AI lets him do that.
I’ve been waiting months to say this. I’m officially a co-founder of Jumpshot AI. 🏀
I was a kid in Chicago dreaming about where this game could take me. Now I get to help you work on your shot wherever you are in the world. That means so much to me.
I’ll be bringing workouts and daily mindset messages to the app. I want to help you build a shot you trust and keep believing in yourself even when you miss. That’s the part of this game I want you to carry with you for the rest of your life.
AJ Rompza Co-founder, Jumpshot AI What AJ is bringing to the app
Our AI already tells you what to fix in your mechanics. AJ will sharpen that feedback and add two things that keep you working on it:
Smarter AI feedback
AJ’s knowledge of shooting mechanics will shape what our AI looks for and how it explains fixes.
Workouts
Drills designed by AJ to target the biggest weaknesses our AI finds in your form analysis, and turn them into strengths.
Daily mindset messages
Short daily notes on confidence, focus and resilience: the mental side of shooting that never shows up in a box score.
For AJ, the mental side matters as much as the mechanics. You build a shot over thousands of reps, and many of them are misses. How you respond to those misses decides whether your form improves or your confidence breaks.
AJ is also Jumpshot AI’s official ambassador, so you’ll see him representing the app on court and online.
Partnering with AJ is a dream come true. I’ve been a fan since his UCF days, watching him lead his team to national prominence. He’s the ultimate underdog story and proof that hard work and mindset can achieve the unthinkable.
I built Jumpshot AI to give anyone access to elite shooting coaching, anywhere, anytime, at a fair price. We’re excited to bring AJ’s elite knowledge as a player and coach into the app, so hoopers won’t just improve their shot and overall game but also build the mindset that makes winners on and off the court.

What this means for you
If you already use Jumpshot AI, you’ll record and analyze your shot the same way. What you get back will improve. AJ’s coaching knowledge will go into the AI analysis, and your drills will tie to the common fixes he’s seen in his many years of coaching. His workouts and mindset messages will appear in the app as they roll out, and we’ll post updates here.
